Happy birthday Woosey Poosey!

18 01 2007

William Kerry James Maloney turned one today. He’s been such a big part of our lives for so long now, right from the early stages of the pregnancy through to today. It just doesnt feel like only a year that he’s been out and about.

What a year, he has achieved sooo much. Learnt to sit up, roll over, crawl, walk and talk all by himself. Sure he can only say "mum mum" "da da" and "teddy" and still walks like his father does after a whole bottle of bourbon, but he’s done all this without anyone helping him or telling him what to do. Fantastic achievement for a little guy. I guess we should pat ourselves on the back for doing this and so much more besides, we often beat ourselves up over really trivial matters and dont sit back and think how cool we really are for all those things we’ve done in our lives that are little but oh so wonderful.

Happy birthday Willsy!

In the weekend we had a little family BBQ to celebrate, I have posted the pictures from the day here.

Happy new year!

Finally back to work today after a nice few weeks break. Been great not to have to think about work and get a few things done around the house. Managed to rip out our "hedge" of weeds down on the back fence and discovered some of the more poisonous properties of some of our visitors down there (was crook for a day after doing that).

Ended up being a bit more quiet than we planned, our camping trip for New Years eve got called off as the kids came down with the pox and we thought it best not to infect the rest of humanity with it. So instead had a fairly quiet one round at Rich & Fe’s place, noice view of the sky tower fireworks from their balcony which was cool. Ended up collapsing about 4am or 5am, just missed out seeing dawn which in hindsight was probably a good thing. We were going up to the bay of islands for a few days to visit Fe’s aunty who hasnt been well, but the weather packed up on us so we’ve postponed that for a couple of weeks. Roll on summer I say!

Have finally got around to organising a lot of the photo’s thanks to the boys & girls at Google. I downloaded Picassa which I had tried before and didn’t like, however this time I fell in love with it. Have discovered it is a piece of piss to use and putting everything in these virtual albums just makes life so much easier. Its not perfect but is bloody good. Especially if you sign up to the web albums which let you share photos really well, can also easily order prints. Have found that paying more than $0.19c on line for a print is a rip off (local photo store charges $0.60c each print)! Get them printed in the states and sent to you is the way to go!

Anyways have put up a few photo’s from Christmas that you might like to see. Just go to: Christmas 2006.

Other big news is our little boy has started walking. The flash (aka William) decided to take off on new years day and hasn’t stopped since. Good on ya lad!
